Ephesians 4:28b: "Let him labor, doing honest work with his own hands, so that he may have something to share with anyone in need."
Let me introduce ourselves! We are the Soares Family- proud owners of Weeping Willow Farm.
Derek owns his own plumbing business, hays our own fields as well as our neighbors fields, is the best husband and dad to our crazy family, works hard fixing everything on the farm from fence posts to barns to the kitchen sink to sometimes even dinner, keeps the farm and the home in order, and is the most patient man I know.
Rebecca runs the farm as the official manager of the herd, tends to the vegetable, herb, and flower gardens, homeschools her two remaining daughters after graduating her two older sons, is the "maker" of the home- making everything from soaps to cheeses to crafts to homestead foods, student of veterinary medicine for small ruminants as well as commercial dairy management classes, and desperately tries to keep the home and farm as organized as she can.
Nathan is graduated from homeschool high school, works for Derek's plumbing business while working toward getting his own plumbers license, lives in the beautiful city of Roanoke, the best friend a person could ask for, and always has a smile on his face.
Jakob is graduated from homeschool high school, works for Derek's plumbing business while also planning on getting his plumbing license, is in charge of our chickens, peacocks, & guinea hens and loves snakes (even if he finds them in the chicken coop!), is quiet and determined, and stands by you no matter what.
Danika is in homeschool high school, is the baker in the family, in charge of milking, the goat kids, horses, and rabbits, she's extremely hard worker always with a smile on her face, and strong willed (in a good way!)
Kaelynn is in homeschool high school as well, helps out at the farmers markets, is in charge of milking goat kids, rabbits, her horse, and the cats, she takes charge of situations that need taking charge of, and knows how to run this farm if I am unable to!
